Café de Finca started with Jonathan in 2009. But soon after, in 2014, John joined the adventure and since then we both captained the boat hand in hand. Now, more than 10 harvests later, it gives some vertigo to look back and see everything the idea has progressed. It has been a difficult but exciting path; full of challenges that seemed impossible and to which we have always had the same attitude: to work twice as well. And do it better. From the beginning we wanted to go to the origin, step on the farm, visit the producing countries such as Ethiopia, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Honduras, Guatemala... Treat face to face with the producers there. And taste, debate and even experiment with them. And cultivate it. It's something that keeps surprising ourselves. We have not joined the team of the producers: since 2015 we have enjoyed harvesting on our own estate: San José/El Nacimiento. A wonderful corner at 1500 m altitude in the leafy region of Santa Barbara, Honduras. There we cultivate the hand of the Peace Mejia. A great family of which we already feel part and to whom we will never be grateful enough for their commitment, their lessons and their generosity. All this has made us stronger. And we have gone from being a specialty coffee microtostor with a coffee shop in Castelldefels (Baix Llobregat, Barcelona), to transforming ourselves into a brand with a philosophy and a unique vision. At Café de Finca we feel passion for good coffee and its origin. Passion for what, well done, passion for always going one step further. Passion to get over us, for the bike, for running, for the nice people... But since not only passion is lived, we also have many other values and we are gradually educating ourselves in other important qualities to keep alive all this tinglado: Café de Finca. So let's sit down for a minute to taste this cup before we go on the adventure. Because this is just the beginning. ???
