About This Coffee
This lot comes from a group of producers in a mountain range 95km west of Antioquia. Farming relatively small plots of land, between 1 and 1.5 hectares, these producers take pride in achieving a high caliber product through the combination of quality driven practices and very high elevation. This high elevation is also the source of the groups name, Cafe ExΓ³tico de Altura, a subdivision for the high elevation farms who are part of the Cooperativa de Caficultores Del Occidente de Antioquia. Our green coffee partners visited the leader of this group in 2019 and they were very impressed with his determination to produce the highest quality coffee possible through growing practices and improving processing techniques. They provide education and training as well as subsidize the cost of raised beds for producers, which makes for more uniform drying.
