They say distance makes the heart grow fonder. Thus our hearts are practically fondue, which is to say warm, gooey, & cheesy, for vivacious Colombian coffee. We couldn't be more happy to blast back into this region with coffee from Finca La Concepción. Run by Ana Lucia Dulce, this farm has been in the family for 100 years. It's an usually large farm for both Nariño & for our importing partners, the Coffee Quest, who typically don't work with farms this size. While it's challenging to grow a small quality driven operation, it's something else to switch gears after DECADES of operation. Quality is labor intensive. It took a lot of faith & work for both parties to make this happen- taking time to meet, to consider/trust notes, & map out new operations- and even more work for Ana to implement those changes that very same year. Now once picked, ripe caturra cherries are fermented, milled, fermented again, & washed, creating coffee that is luscious, sweet, & VERY aromatic. 'No small thing. We couldn't have asked for a nicer return to Colombian coffee! Hope ya enjoy what Ana & co made happen. We do.
