Process Coffee Roasters
Santa Monica, CA, USA
We received a handful of samples from Peru a little while back, and after roasting, did a blind cupping to see which coffee was best suited for our next Single Origin line up. This coffee, produced by Esmerita Vasquez, did not disapoint. In fact, out of all the coffees we sampled, we agreed overwhelmingly, that her coffee was the best! The cupping sample had notes of grabby grapefruit and crisp apple, some brown sugars, floral aromas, and a warm, spice like finish. We are so excited to be supporting Esmerita and her family at origin by purchasing this coffee from her, via Yellow Rooster. Here is a little bit more about Esmerita and her family farm: La Esperanza farm is run by Mrs. Esmerita Vasquez. She is 48 years old and lives in La Coipa town in the Cajamarca region of Peru. Her farm is located in el Cautivo Sector and she walks from her home to her farm. It takes about 40-50 minutes for her to get there. She works with her husband alongside her in their harvest. Because of the distance of her town and farm it is a little difficult to move the coffee so she sometimes uses mules to transport her coffee. We know you will be so impressed by this cup from La Esperanza farm in Peru! Enjoy!
