About This Coffee
Behind this exceptional coffee are small farmers from the Muranga region who cultivate their small plots of 1-2 hectares. They often have only about a hundred coffee trees, which allows for maximum care for each tree and fruit. These farmers are organized into Cooperative Societies, which jointly ensure the collection, sorting, and subsequent processing of the harvested cherries. The harvested coffee cherries are sent to local wet mills, where they undergo a washing process known as "washed." This process involves removing the pulp from the cherries before drying, which gives the coffee exceptional purity, clarity, and fruity acidity. As a result, you can enjoy a cup that is not only fresh, but also distinctly fruity and perfectly balanced. Blackberry Disco is a blend of the legendary Kenyan varieties SL28 and SL34, which are known for their ability to produce coffee with a deep, complex profile. They are grown at an altitude of 1,800 meters, where the cooler climate and slow fruit growth contribute to the development of intense flavors and aromas. The result is a coffee with a distinctive acidity reminiscent of fresh fruit, with a full body and a long, bright finish.
