About This Coffee
Grown along Lake Titicaca's shores in the Sandia Valley's unique tropical climate in beautiful Puno, Tambopata is an exceptionally quality-focused coffee deeply rooted in Peru's indigenous heritage. The name is a Quechua word that means a structure in the heights. Along this route, the Incas used to place tambos, buildings that stored food for travellers. Due to the presence of the Andes Mountains, there are very fertile soils in this region with a wide variety of minerals. This field blend of Typica, Caturra and Bourbon is grown by smallholder producers in the area and thoroughly washed before being dried for 7 to 14 days on raised beds under parabolic cover.
